The pandemic has affected absolutely everyone and everything, even football. It hit us very hard.
Before the pandemic, Life of a Punter was functioning well – our website was operational, with a membership portal, data feeds & algorithms running, a Telegram channel to post bets, an active following, and above all, a good track record.
About one month or so after all football matches were fully suspended, our API data provider, Crowdscores, shutdown out of nowhere.
No heads up, no reason provided, just goodbye.

Unfortunately it is goodbye, for now.
We will be closing down our servers in the next few days and will remove us from the app store.
From everyone at CrowdScores we would like to thank you all for being on this amazing journey with us!#FootballFamily pic.twitter.com/9np5vBoQll
Did they go bankrupt? Probably, who knows. It however started a domino effect.
Our entire website was built around pulling data from Crowdscores. Scores fed into our system, and algorithms computed stats for us, which we then used to do research on what games to place bets on.
Without scores, the system doesn’t update and if the system doesn’t update, bye bye stats. Anyone who has ever worked with an API knows – you develop code specific to that API.
At that same time, our programmer got a full-time job at Facebook and left to USA (we are in Canada by the way).
Big congrats to him but holy smokes, it couldn’t have been worse timing. He couldn’t code for us anymore because Facebook prohibited it.
At this point we were left with a website that was not updating and no programmer to help us fix it. Most people don’t understand the amount of time it takes to code a website. Life of A Punter isn’t a generic website that the average Joe can put together via Wix. It took us a very long time to program the feeds, implement the formulas, and to build the algorithms to spit out stats that we use to bet one. The type of stats we provide, and the filtering capabilities just are not available at other sites, this is the main reason why we started Life of a Punter in the first place. Everything is so custom, it is a steep learning curve for any new programmer to understand how everything works.
Anyway, we reached out to other programmers, who gave us quotes to re-do the site.
As if things couldn't get worse my business partner, whose full-time job involves working with casinos – gets reduced hours/pay because guess what… Casinos were shutdown for most of the pandemic. He couldn’t afford to put more money into this business than he already had. So, he stepped down.
That’s where things really started to die. Time went on…
Real shitty!
Over the last two years, I have tried to use the existing data that was in our system but it is very difficult to do everything manually and it is very time consuming.
Luckily, the right person came around.
A friend, who has followed us for a while, knows what we are all about, and shares our passion on betting football. He just so happens to be a damn good programmer.
We will keep his identity secret for now…
…you know, just to build some suspense.
That said, Life of a Punter is being revived! We are currently working on:
Our goal is to consistently help you make money on a monthly basis. Watching a sport we all love, football.
Stay tuned my friends, we’re coming back bigger and better than ever before.
-Your friend, Rick
We at Life of a Punter believe than anyone can be profitable by placing bets.
The sky is the limit (or the bookmakers are). You just have to get the right tooling, staking plans, data and bankroll management.
Even more important; get those emotions under control, don't stake like there's no tomorrow when you lose a few bets in a row.
Fill in the form and let us assist you in this journey to becoming a professional punter.
